Passkeys
Passkeys are a simple, secure alternative to passwords. With a passkey, you can sign in to your Scan & Pay account using your fingerprint, face scan, or screen lock.
Why use passkeys?
- Better security: Passkeys cannot be shared, copied, written down, or accidentally given away, making them highly resistant to phishing.
- Easier sign-in: Verify it's you quickly without remembering a password.
- Privacy first: Your biometric data (fingerprint or face scan) stays securely on your device and is never shared with Scan & Pay.
Setting up a passkey
Important:
Only create passkeys on devices you personally own. Once a passkey is created, anyone who can unlock your device can access your Scan & Pay account.
When you create a passkey, you opt in to a fast, password-less sign-in experience.
- 1
Sign in to your account
Go to your Security settings in the Business Portal.

Follow the on-screen prompts from your operating system to set up your fingerprint, face, or screen lock.
Device Requirements
To use passkeys, you'll need a supported device and browser:
- Phones: iOS 16+ or Android 9+ with screen lock enabled.
- Computers: macOS Ventura, Windows 10, or ChromeOS 109+.
- Browsers: Modern versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox.
Tip: For Apple devices, ensure iCloud Keychain is turned on. To use a passkey from your phone to sign in on a computer, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both devices.
Managing your passkeys
You can remove a passkey at any time from your account settings. If you lose a device, simply sign in from another device and remove the passkey associated with the lost device.
If you prefer, you can always choose "Try another way" at sign-in to use a password or one-time code instead.
